Introducing Noureddine Meddoun

In my role  as an inspector with the British Boxing Board of Control, I occasionally have to assess the ability and fitness of boxers who wish to turn professional. I recently met and assessed a Moroccan boxer called Noureddine Meddoun, here are a few facts about Noureddine:

Place of Birth:                    Safi, Morocco

Hometown now:                 Swindon, Wiltshire

Marital Status:                   Married

Noureddine works full time for Thamesdown Recycling in Cricklade, Swindon.  He is just embarking on a Professional career after a very successful Amateur career, which resulted in him fighting at International level for his country, Morocco on many occasions.

Barton Hill Amateur Boxing Club

Barton Hill Amateur Boxing Club was opened by local boxer Glen Catley in 2007 with the aim of helping the kids from Barton Hill to get involved in the sport, keep them safe, and teach them respect for others.

Today they have over 200 members.

Their next show is at Fairfield High School, Stottbury Road, Bristol on 10th April. Doors open at 19:30 for a 20:00 start, and tickets are £10 for adults and £5 for kids.
