Championship Boxing Saturday 28th October 1995

This was held at whitchurch sports centre at Bristol the main event of the evening was a 12 round contest for the Light-Welterweight Championship of Great Britain between Ross The Rooster Hale and Charlie Kane with Ross winning with a TKO in rd 2, also on the bill  was a Middleweight contset between Glen Catley and Carlos Christie over 8 rds with Glen winning on points.

Championship Boxing Lee Haskins v Delroy Spencer friday 3rd december 2004

This was held at the Dolman Exhibition Hall at Ashton Gate Stadium ,Bristol.Lee won this contest in rd 3 as Delroy retired due to a rib injury also on the bill was Leigh Alliss against Valery Odin which saw Odin win in rd 5 with a TKO referee in charge was Mike Heatherwick.

Midlands Sporting Club ,Report and Accounts 1970-71


This report from 1971 also features a report on their trip to New York to watch Frazier v Ali .Pictured is members Leslie Keegan and Edgar Hiley meeting Jack Dempsey at his restuarant.Also Boxer of the Year which went to Maurice Cullan,the passing away of Howard Vizor,M.B.E and reports about there many club nights which included George Dulaire and Brian Jewitt ,Paul Cassidy v Peter Boddington,Jack Coates v Guinea Rogers and many more plus their Income and Expenditure Account for the year.As always would love to here from one of the boxers or committee members at that time or anybody who has a story to tell,also does the club still exist is so would be nice to pop along .

Amatuer Boxing Association, Its History 1965 First Edition

Prior to 1880 Amatuer boxing had no governing body amatuer championships had been held since 1867 at three weights Light, Middle and Heavy under the Marquis of Queensberry Rules which were primitive and vaque.Pictured  is founder member John H.
